To commemorate the 100 years since the completion of the Trans-Australian Railway, two stamps will be released on 4 July 2017. The stamp designs incorporate vintage travel posters from State Library Victoria, including the “Across Australia” poster by well-known graphic artist James Northfield.

The Mauritius Post Office stamps from 1847 are amongst the rarest in the world. There’s an orange-red One Penny and a deep-blue Twopenny. Self-adhesive stamps produced by Australia Post will now feature micro cuts. Micro cuts are small security cuts that improve the adhesion of the stamp to the article surface and also prevent self-adhesive stamps from being removed easily for possible re-use.
