Welcome to #ProjectTwinky part one! After cleaning 'the car' out of all the rubbish (leaves, gunk, glass, old carpet, past girlfriends), we decided to begin at the front. We cut off the front panel, and the right hand inner wing. Cleaning up the chassis rail showed that it was still in good condition. As you can see, we have placed the new inner wing from Magnum Panels, supplied by SMCKA Performance and fits like a snug pair of jeans. Next time, we will remove left hand inner wing. It's looking like we will have to replace the lower bulkhead/firewall as well. Stay tuned for the next installment.

Well here it is, The SMCKA Performance project Mk1 Escort, to be known as PROJECT TWINKY. I think you will agree that I have found the worst example around! With this project I plan to showcase all the parts you can purchase from SMCKA Performance, everything as far as possible will be new or reconditioned parts. First off I am planning to show that with Magnum Panels we can save this shell from the crusher. I will be publishing costings as we go. Very shortly I will get it off the trailer and cleaned out and assess what panels I will need. I have a number of sets of the new Magnum Panels bubble arch wings on there way, and when available the bubble rear quarter panel in stock, I think these will go well. Any other idea's ????
