White Lady Funerals held their annual Christmas Candlelight Memorial Service in the South Chapel last night. A way of remembering the loved ones that we have lost but also a celebration of the memories that each one of us has, and how important it is to cherish those forever. Thank you to all who attended this very special service.

Thank you to all those who came along on Saturday night to our 2nd Annual Christmas Carols, the children especially enjoyed a special visit from Santa and his helper. It was a magical night of Christmas Carols in partnership with Joseph Medcalf Funeral Services. It was wonderful to see many people from our community enjoying the Christmas Crackers Band and showing their support to raise money for the Newborn Care Centre, Royal Hospital for Women. We wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which provides an opportunity for us all to focus on breast cancer and its impact on those affected by the disease in our community. This morning our staff attended the 8th Annual Breast Cancer Morning Tea, hosted by Aunty Barbara Simms-Keeley and the Guriwal Aboriginal Corporation.

Award Gala Dinner last night. On October 15, Woronora Memorial Park and Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park observed Pregnancy & Infant Loss Day with a remembrance ceremony and candlelight memorial, joining many others all across the globe. ABC News aired a live interview with Graham Boyd, CEO Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust (NSW) along with Victoria Bowring, CEO Stillbirth Foundation Australia https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B9Wb573_b01Ha1VjNlo4R0s1ajg While 6 stillbirths occur each day in Australia, 2 of these are preventable but require both awareness and research. As a community, we can do something by finding out more and then taking proactive action.
