Expecting a baby is such an exciting time and it's important for you to take good care of your teeth and gums while pregnant. Pregnancy causes hormonal changes that increase the risk of developing gum disease which, in turn, can affect the health of your developing baby. Here are some tips to help you maintain good oral health during pregnancy - Visit your Dentist for a regular check ups and cleans - Brush twice a day and floss daily - Maintain a healthy diet - If morning sickness is preventing you from brushing, change to a bland tasting toothpaste during your pregnancy - Try to limit sugary snack cravings. Keep in mind the more frequently snack, the greater the risk of tooth decay If you are currently pregnant and would like to come in for a regular check up, please call us to make an appointment.
Why Should you Floss? - Floss reaches 35% of your teeth surfaces that your toothbrush can not - Prevents gingivitis (Gum disease) - Helps bad breath - Prevents against cavities - Prevents against tooth and bone loss
