facebook.comI saw the doctor again today... and I was given good news and bad news. The bad news is that I have a rotator cuff muscle that is only holding on by a tread, and I have a piece of broken bone floating around in my shoulder. I will have to have another operation soon to repair it all. The good news is if all goes well I should gain more function, and it should be less painful than it is now.
Six months after my accident I have been quite okay at rest, but the moment I do anything physical, it feels like a bunch of Hell's Angels have taken turns punching me in the arm. I have had to go back on the pain killers, so the Doc has sent me to get an x-ray and ultrasound. It turns out that I have some bits missing. An entire tendon has been removed, and in an area where there is supposed to be a gap... there is no gap. So apparently things are rubbing against each other that normally wouldn't. I didn't know all this until today. So, I am feeling a bit anxious about the future. :( I should know more when I go back and see the Doc.
Hi everyone.....this is Colleen :) I would like to do something for our lovely clients who used us for our services. Until we are up and running again, I would like to offer a once off pantry or fridge clean, or clean and organise up to 2 cupboards. This is COMPLIMENTARY as a Thank You :) The only drawback is because we haven't been able to work since June, I am on a tight fuel budget, I can only help up to 3 people a week within around a 10km radius from home (Maroochydore). If you would like to take up this offer (it's a great excuse to see you again) please message me personally or leave a comment here. Cheers Colleen :) xx
Happy New Year everyone! :)
Well... I now know why our phone number hasn't been working. I had paid for six months credit, so I thought it was well and truly taken care of... but unbeknown to me Telsta was charging us $2 PER MB for data. So the credit was completely used up the same day I recharged the phone and calls couldn't get through. :( I guess there is not a great deal of point in recharging until we are back up and running again, but at least we now know what happened.
I was really hoping to have been back at work before Christmas and been able to get some windows cleaned for you all. Unfortunately, in spite of my best efforts, that didn't happen. Sorry about that. :( My shoulder is usually okay at rest (which is good), but still a bit problematic when it is not. Who would have thought that such a simple incident could have such a profound impact on one's life? Hopefully, it will come right, and we can get stuck into it again. Col and I are extremely grateful for all the support that you have given us. Thank you so much! We hope we can serve you again in the future. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas! Stay safe! Kindest regards, John
Naughty or nice? You’ve gotta watch this video for Beginning to Look Like Christmas - Cast 2!
Wishing you all a beautiful Christmas and if all goes well, be back on track in 2017! Thank you for being there for us, we appreciate you in every way!
I am now off the pain killers, and I am building strength. I am starting to see light at the end of the tunnel. :)
Until my accident... I had no idea how heavy my arm actuallly was. It's amazing.
My shoulder seems to be getting back on track. Still couldn't lift a heavy window out of it's tracks quite yet.. particularly not lots of them.. but definite improvements are being made.. and I am getting close to being off the pain killers completely. My range of movement is now around 135:110:40 I think my physio exercise technique wasn't quite right for a while, but I am doing better now. :)
My recovery has hit a bit of a speed hump. My left shoulder blade is now in an odd orientation and the muscles around it have shortened and have become knotted. So the plan is to apply heat, get Col to press on all the pain points with a golf ball and then do my physio exercises. This should help stretch the muscles over time.
Hi Everyone, My range of movement has increased to around 90-90-40, and my surgeon is now allowing me to use my left arm "as tolerated". So that is good news. :) Still not ready for cleaning windows yet, but I am heading in the right direction. :)
