Hi Everyone, Lately I have a few people complaining about dogs still being injured while wearing a breastplate. Rules I go by when choosing a plate. No.1 cheaper is not always better No.2 Make sure it fits firmly on your dog no big gaps between your plate and dogs body. No.3 The climate you hunt, make sure they won't be to hot in it. No.4 manoeuvrability you need to keep 85% minimum No.5 low and hi-impact material. (Seatbelt on its own is a low impact material and will still damage your dogs muscle causing deep tissue damage over time) where as canvas, firehose, Kevlar etc will distribute a blow more evenly over the area reducing damage. The $20-$50 you save at the time will end up costing you more in vet bills and even the length of time your plate lasts. There are a few more but these are the main rules to remember. Happy Hunting.
