Please Help Our Local Horse Communities In Tamborine, Beaudesert & Logan... You all may have heard of the pain & devastation the flooding has caused to our local Logan and Tamborine communities here in South East QLD. Thank God (truly) that our business was surrounded by floods, but kept dry. We were unable to access our workplace over a 4 day period until the waters receded. So... the weekend was spent helping neighbours clean up the mud from their precious items and basically lending a hand. For many weeks, the cleanup will continue and the grass and paddocks are still shrouded in mud...and we have seen human kindness and the Aussie spirit prevail again all over our regions by many kind deeds and helpful people. We are collecting donations of hay, feed, tack, horse rugs or cash and anything you can spare to help these families out. If you would like to make a donation, we promise to pass 100% of any funds on to purchase goods or feed for their precious equine friends. Our bank account is Easy Traveller Branch: 034 264 and Acc: 389 166 and our address is 23 Centenary Place, Logan Village. MARES REALLY DO WANT TO BE COMFORTABLE!! Two mares with two very different balance requirements The lovely Molly on the right shows the position of a really good traveller. She hardly changes footing during the whole trip and could quite possibly happily travel on any type of float as she has done in her 20+ years. On the left is the lovely Ms Puzzle, she is displaying your typical stance of a horse that requires a broader base to maintain good balance and stay upright safely whilst travelling. ~Now imagine if my float wall only went to the pink line which I've drawn~ That line is where the wall of a standard horse float would be. Whilst Puzzle has only put her hoof an inch over that mark, it's that tiny inch which can make all the difference to a scrambler and a non scrambler. Without the extra room the JR Easy Traveller allows with its angled walls, Puzzle would have most likely started to climb the wall and potentially fallen over as she fought to stay upright. I see this every few days with most mares we travel. The girls really do appreciate more room, they are so sensitive and their requirements for feeling safe and comfortable are much greater than their gelding counterparts! And who can blame them, I'd demand nothing less than the best as well 😄🐎 Written by Naomi from EquesXpress Horse Transport

Did you know there were NO indigenous horses found in Australia? It was reported in the journal of Lieutenant Philip Gidley King, a member of the First Fleet, that three mares, one stallion, one yearling colt and two yearling fillies landed at Sydney Cove in 1788. These were the first seven horses on the Australian continent. By the year 1900, there was one horse to every 3 new settlers (very interesting)!!
