This beautiful boy is Axel. He is a 4 year old Doberman, who belongs to one of our nurses Nathan. Nathan noticed Axel was feeling really unwell, he was vomiting and eating excessive amounts of grass. He brought him straight in to the clinic for a check up. The vet decided to take some radiographs of Axel's abdomen, which showed us that he had an extremely dangerous amount of gas built up in his entire small intestines and stomach. He immediately needed to have an emergency exploratory laparotomy. (Where the abdominal cavity is opened to explore for abnormalities/foreign bodies). The surgeon found massive amounts of fermented plums and grass, which was successfully removed. This is the third time this year Axel has had to have this procedure done, as he literally eats anything in sight. After being hospitalised for 5 days Axel finally got to go home yesterday!

Meet Gus! Gus is a 6 month old Staffordshire bull terrier puppy. He belongs to Nerida, one of our lovely veterinarians. He had to make a visit to the clinic because the left side of his face was exceptionally swollen! The diagnosis... 'Cheech' Nerida's cat had shown Gus some tough love on the weekend and swiped him. He will be back to his cheeky self in no time!

This is little Daisy. She is our receptionist Jo's other fluffy pooch. Daisy had surgery last week to remove multiple lumps from the tip of her right ear. She is recovering really well from her procedure. Doesn't she look cute wearing her inflatable collar?! (She's wearing it so she is unable to scratch her sutures)
