Join us for the inaugural Kiama Readers Festival 14-16th of October 2016, sharing a love of reading with a number of talented and entertaining authors! Join us for the inaugural Kiama Readers Festival on the 14th, 15th and 16th of October 2016 where we will share a love of reading with a number of talented and entertaining authors!  

We have a great line up of events featuring well known and local authors throughout the weekend.

The official launch will take place at Kiama Library on the Friday evening where we will be joined by Damon Young, philosopher, commentator and author of nine books including his latest The Art of Reading.

On Saturday we will be hosting a full day of events at The Pavilion Kiama with over 12 authors and 12 sessions including a panel sessions. Authors appearing at our Festival include Meg Kenneally, Richard Glover, Frank Moorhouse, Kate Llewellyn and many more. Books will be available for purchase from The Bookshop Kiama and authors will be available to sign your books  and a chat.

A coffee cart will also be available for a quick cuppa between sessions.

The Festival dinner on Saturday night will be held at the Kiama Leagues club with guest authors to be announced shortly.  

Kiama Library will be the venue for the children events taking place on Sunday when we welcome Ursula Dubosarsky who will provide lots of fun activities based around her unique stories including Too Many Elephants in this House and The Word Spy.


The Kiama Readers Festival a joint project by the Friends of Kiama Library, Kiama Library and Kiama Municipal Council.

Kiama Readers Festival Dinner

It is with great excitement we announce that Kathy Lette will be our celebrated guest speaker at a special Kiama Readers Festival dinner. It will be held at The Pavilion, Kiama on Saturday May 13th at 7pm for 7.30 pm start. An attractive two course dinner will be created by Culinarius followed by tea or coffee, plus dessert provided by the Friends Of Kiama Library. Tickets are $65 and will be available from Wednesday March 15th. Tickets may be purchased online or direct at Kiama Library, Railway Parade or phone (02) 4233 1133.
