The essential oil of a grapefruit is extracted from its rind and full of useful nutrients and antioxidants! The enzyme bromelain in grapefruit is particularly useful for promoting smooth skin, especially around the thigh area. Simply mix 12 drops of our grapefruit oil into half a cup of our almond or coconut oil and massage into the area daily. Keeping this oil on hand to inhale straight from the bottle can help combat jet lag and elevate energy levels. There are also plenty of room spray recipes that include grapefruit oil for its deodorizing properties and fresh, crisp scent. Spray the diluted oil with distilled water on surfaces to clean or spray in the air to refresh a room. Last but certainly not least place a few drops in your oil burner or apply a few drops diluted in a carrier oil to your neck to ease a hangover headache. A note of caution though as grapefruit oil is part of the citrus family it should not be used on skin that is exposed to direct sunlight as it can increase the skins sensitivity. What a great way to start a fresh year, singing the praises of our refreshing Spearmint essential oil! For the cooling effect you've been dreaming of this summer place a few drops in your bath water and chill out to the calm, clean and revitalizing vibe of spearmint. Yes, spearmint is very close to peppermint essential oil in properties and benefits, however it is a much gentler oil so it can be used diluted for children over six years of age. Much like mint teas are suggested for the inside of an upset or cramping stomach, diluted spearmint can help with a sad tummy if massaged directly onto the area. For more focus and confidence it is beneficial to place spearmint oil in your oil burner. Respiratory issues such as asthma, bronchitis or congestion can also be relieved by inhaling spearmint oil in a vapor situation (placing a few drops of the oil in a bowl of hot water and inhaling the steam). For all our Facebook friends - you may remember the piece we did last year about Mollie Davies and her amazing pieces of beaded jewellery- It is with a very sad and tearful heart that I have found out just today, that the dear soul departed this life on the 7th January at the tender age of 97yrs. To everyone who has a piece of Mollie's jewellery, you are blessed - we were blessed and the Herb Circle family is a little sad today. Mollie was a consignee since 2008 and will be so dearly missed.
