Mr Meek and our new school captain, Brandi Lee bumped into each other at the cricket. We hope that all of our students and their families are enjoying the holidays. Keep safe and come back on 30th January ready for another big year at Heaton Public School.
All students will be enjoying a Disco Day tomorrow to celebrate the end of the year and to farewell our Year 6 Class of 2016. Money raised at cake stalls throughout the term is being used to provide lunch to all students and staff as well. The pizzas are ordered and will be cooked fresh for us tomorrow. Tonight's Year 6 Farewell is for Year 5 and Year 6 students only.
Heaton PS Presentation Day will definitely go ahead as planned tomorrow. The major awards ceremony will commence at 9:30 and the class awards, at which all children will receive recognition, will start at approximately 12:00. Our teachers will not be attending the Teachers Federation meeting tomorrow as we feel that, on this occasion, the Presentation Day takes priority. We would love to see you at the hall to watch the children receive their awards.
Don't forget about the second-hand book sale this week! It will be in the library before and after school until Thursday. Books cost 50c each. Hope to see you there!

The countdown is on until performance night with only 1 week to go! Just a reminder that next Tuesday a dress rehearsal will be held for all students – they will need to bring their performance clothing to school with them. If there are any concerns about costuming please see Miss King before Tuesday. If you know that you will be away on holiday and won’t be able to make it to performance night could you please let Miss King know as soon as possible. We look forward to seeing everyone there!
The holidays are coming up and some of our parents are after ideas for child-friendly activities. Cheap is good but free is better. Lets share some ideas.
