If you have an animal emergency please call TEVE on 0477 331 838, so the TEVE team can prepare for your pet's arrival.

We are located in Howard Springs just off the Stuart Hwy - we are easily and quickly accessible to residents in Darwin City, Palmerston, northern suburbs and rural areas via the Stuart Hwy.

TEVE is located at Lot 43 Smyth Rd, Howard Springs, 0835.

SERVICES:

1. EMERGENCY CARE: Vets are available to help your pet when they need it the most.

2. OVERNIGHT CARE: Should your pet require constant care overnight, TEVE vets and nurses can closely monitor your pet all throughout the night. Diagnostics, treatments, monitoring and surgical procedures can all be done overnight - ensuring your pet gets the care they need when they need it.

Your pet will not be alone. Vets and nurses can provide you with updates overnight, so you are kept informed of your pet's condition. Close monitoring means that we will know straight away if your pet condition's changes. You can have peace of mind knowing your pet is receiving the treatment they need, as soon as they need it.

3. CRITICAL CARE
Critical care is a special type of in-hospital advanced care that is provided for seriously unwell patients with conditions such as severe trauma, internal bleeding, sepsis, cardiac and lung disease, poisoning, shock and more.

4. WORKING WITH YOUR REGULAR VET:
TEVE works with the vet you know best - your pet's regular vet. TEVE will send all details of your pet's care to your regular vet, so they are fully informed and can continue to care for your pet.

4. VET REFERRALS:
TEVE will accept referrals from all veterinary hospitals. Patients from  other veterinary hospitals can be referred to TEVE for ongoing overnight care, and then transferred back to their regular hospital in the morning.

It seems it's not just Darwin - the whole country is scorching! 😮😮 Avoid heatstroke in your pets - it can become deadly very quickly. Keep your pets safe - keep them cool! - no exercising pets during the day time - still be cautious of exercising them too much in the early morning or evening - provide a cool and shaded area for your pets to be in - make sure the area isn't just shaded, but the surface your pets are on is cool (concrete gets hot!) - plenty of water available - if your pet appears unwell,.check with a vet You can offer ice blocks or tuna ice cups as a tasty treat. https://www.facebook.com/TheNTNews/posts/10155077746410598

Wildlife Wednesdays Bats are the only group of mammals that are specifically adapted for flight. There are two types of bats: the micro bats and the mega bats. Micro bats rely on echolocation to find insects while flying quickly through the air. Most microbats eat flying insects – masses of them! They can catch up to 500 an hour and eat up to half their body weight a night. So they are great for keeping down the mosquitoes. Micro bats use an array of roost sites for sleeping during the day. The majority of micro bats roost in tree hollows or caves. If you find a bat, do not touch it as some can carry diseases. Please contact Darwin Wildlife sanctuary on 0473 992 581 (24hrs) or Wildcare on 0408 885 341(7am to 8pm).
