This week is the annual NAPLAN testing week. In primary years our grades 3 and 5 will participate in the testing. These tests are nationwide and provide an insight into student performance under strict testing conditions on one particular day. At WHPS we maintain a focus on holistic learning that represents the progress of the whole child over time. However, we use the NAPLAN results to help build a picture of students in differing testing scenarios. Good luck to all of our students participating this week.

We are in need for extra volunteer helpers that have a current Working with Children's Check (WCC) for the Mothers Day Stall on Thursday 11th May. Help is required between 9-11am and 11:30-1pm to assist students with their purchases. Small children/toddlers are welcome to attend. Don't forget to bring your $$ on Thursday the 11th May. All classes will be visiting the stall sometime between 9am - 1pm. Please ensure your child brings a bag to school that they can pop their special goodies in. No secret peeks either Mums!!!

We have been advised by the Watsonia District that all Interschool Sports games for tomorrow has been cancelled due to the recent heavy rainfall. A lot of ovals are still holding too much water and won't be ready for tomorrow. These games will be made up on Friday 16th June.

The Winter Interschool Sports fixture kicks off this week and we start the first 3 rounds playing our away each week. First up we have St Mary's located 210 Grimshaw Street, Greensborough. Good luck to our sports stars!

We are very excited to introduce Compass to our parent community. Log in letters were sent home with the eldest child in your family on Tuesday. If you haven't received it just give our office staff a call so we can reprint the information for you. The school newsletter, excursion permissions, student attendance and in future all student reporting data will be only available via Compass. Over time we will be increasing the functionality of the site to expand our communications via the portal. Thank you for your patience and welcome to Compass.
