Description
This is the official facebook page of St Bernard's College Essendon St Bernard's College is a single-gender Catholic Secondary School offering a wide range of formal classes, and also a comprehensive informal curriculum, to more than 1400 young men from Year 7 through to Year 12. The students are expected to be personally enthusiastic about involving themselves in the broad educational spectrum offered by the school. This applies especially to their growth in an informed appreciation of their Faith as an integral and essential part of that broad education.
Though our student population is drawn mostly from those who have attended local Catholic Primary Schools, and whose families have been actively supportive of their sons' ongoing education in the Catholic faith through consistent involvement in their parish communities, consideration is always given to students who can demonstrate special circumstances. There is no selective academic entrance exam.
Set in extensive grounds on the side of Steele Creek Valley in West Essendon, the College is administered as two separate campuses—Years 7 to 9 and Years 10 to 12—who share the same site. This fosters a closer sense of community on each campus.

Building works continue at the College with demolition of the walkway. This demolition will make way for the construction of the new Chapel and Research Centre. We have also had all of the external panels on the auditorium replaced, as well as continued landscaping and grounds maintenance.

Happy New Year to all of our families. Some important dates to note. The College office will open on Monday 23 January Year 7 and VCE classes commence on Wednesday 1 February Year 8, 9 and 10 classes commence on Thursday 2 February.

HIGH ACHIEVERS Last night we celebrated with our high achieving students. The night acknowledged those students who achieved an ATAR of 90 and above. We also celebrated the achievements of our students who have chosen a different pathway through VCAL. Many thanks to all who attended and the Ladies Auxiliary for providing the wonderful supper.
Upon release of VCE results today, St Bernard’s College would like to congratulate the class of 2016 for achieving some outstanding performances. The College had 19% of its VCE students score 90+, with 10% attaining a study score of 40 or above in a single subject. The median score of 74.5 is the best result for a cohort since 2009. Once again, congratulations to all students on a wonderful year and we look forward to seeing what you achieve in the future.
