Hornsby SES has a great page full of tips like this one on finding the source of roof leaks - maybe you should add it to your 'likes'! Today, Dural RFS is doing a Safe Working on Roofs Course to train and recertify our members. Since this course is designed to give us skills and experience for storm damage work, the very wet weather is kind of perfect timing... Take care out there on the roads, and remember, if it's flooded, forget it!

Our Juniors had a great session on Saturday, starting with a truck familiarisation checklist to go over equipment and locations in Dural 1. Firefighter Adrian kindly demonstrated the features of Breathing Apparatus gear, including the distress signal caused by a mock collapse. We finished with a practical session on 38mm hose testing out different nozzles and patterns, and the importance of a back-up. Great work from our potential future members, and a big thank you to our volunteer leaders for giving up their time.
