Holistic Counselling and Psychotherapy Holistic Counselling and Psychotherapy is a deeply respectful and uniquely personal style of therapy. At Connecting Within, this means that the therapeutic approach is aimed towards empowering you to make the decisions that are right for you. I use a Holistic Process Oriented approach which honours the personal wisdom and intuition of all individuals. As a student intern Holistic Counsellor and Psychotherapist, my aim is to walk alongside you on your own personal healing journey and I assist by facilitating you to get in touch with, and strengthen, your own self-awareness and personal power. This occurs both without judgement and without telling you what to do. Each session involves deep, still listening and is respectfully guided by the individuals presenting process from moment to moment. The result is a truly holistic, fluid and adaptable approach to therapy, which provides a compassionate safe space to hold and unfold any issues in your own unique way and time.

The technique of connected breathing can be used to help soothe ourselves when feeling stressed, anxious, overwhelmed or depressed. It can help to facilitate deep relaxation & release suppressed emotions or negative thoughts. Practiced commonly in many types of yoga, this ancient breathing technique involves breathing without any pauses or gaps between inhales. This means that the in breaths merge with the out breaths & the out breaths with the in, in one continuous motion. To try it, simply relax your body and focus your attention on your breathing. Just by doing 20 connected breaths in the morning and in the night, it can help you to increase your overall sense of mental wellbeing, relaxation and stillness.
