The Marketing and Management association of UWA, is a student run society to help students further their studies, their careers and employment prospects.  The Marketing and Management association of UWA (MARKAM), is the first of its kind, student run society, based at the University of Western Australia. We aim to help students further their studies, their careers and employment prospects. Our mission is to join partnerships with experienced companies and organisations within the industry to benefit the students who are a part of the society, by offering careers advice and opportunities. In doing this, professionals from the Marketing and Management industry are invited in to discuss their work and offer insight into a career in these two particular fields.

2016 was a magnificent year at Markam. We've gone from barely being able to afford club stickers to a flourishing club with over 300 members. The closing of our AGM marks the end of an amazing year, bringing you events such as the Creative Corner, Channel 9 Competition, and Managing Tomorrow Workshop with Wesfarmers. Our newly elected 2017 committee will ensure there is more to come! Stay tuned for 2017!

Introducing our next representative for our Creative Corner: Brownes Event: Brady Flockart from Boomtick Events! A recent UWA graduate, Brady has been working in the field of marketing for the past 3 years at Boomtick Events. His creative, outside the box thinking and highly technical skillset have seen him rise the corporate ladder, from intern to marketing manager. He is currently in charge of marketing campaigns and strategies for multiple sell out, large scale, music festivals & events such as Listen Out and Breakfest.

It's our pleasure to introduce to you the brain behind the Creative Corner marketing problem! Natalie Sarich-Dayton is an international consumer goods marketer with over 20 years’ experience in the food and drinks industry. Currently the Marketing Director of Brownes Dairy she is tasked with delivering the best tasting dairy products to West Australian families. Originally from Perth and an UWA alumnus, Natalie was previously based in London as Director of European Portfolio Development at Coca-Cola Enterprises where she was responsible for development of Energy, Sports and Functional Beverages across Great Britain, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Sweden and Norway. Prior to this, Natalie has spent a number of years at Heinz, Danone and Unilever in brand marketing roles in the UK and Australia. Finally, a selfie! Introducing our next brand rep, Graeme Hill from Channel 9, whom you may remember from our recent 'The Block' competition. Graeme is responsible for the overall daily programme schedule and planning in Perth as well as the rating performance of the station against its rival competitors. Under his watch is the Marketing Department, both on air and external, responsible for external advertising for Channel 9 programmes, events and sponsorships. As well as this he oversees both on-air promos and publicity departments. Graeme relies on a great team who love working in television and are passionate about what they do and deliver. Graeme's experience spans 35 years in the television industry with 34 years being part of the Seven Network and in a senior Programming role in Melbourne and Sydney.

Our next representative for the Creative Corner: Brownes is Ryan Stephens from Metrix Consulting! Having recently completed a double major in Marketing and Management at UWA, Ryan has jumped right into the world of Marketing and is working as Business Analyst at Metrix. Ryan has gained a variety of experience so far, from time spent as a field researcher, involvement in a tourism start up as well as spending some time in Colombia working in the beverage industry specialising in new product commercialisation and consumer insight generation.
