The 2016 preschool year is coming to a close! We only have 3 days left before we sadly say goodbye to our preschoolers who will be heading off to 'big' school next year. Thursday and Friday will be orientation days for our 2017 children. These photos are activities happening in the shire over the holiday break.

In Cassie's group yesterday, Meegan's Dad, Mick, arranged for his friend Jeff to visit preschool. Jeff is an Aboriginal man and also an ambulance officer. Jeff had lots of interesting items to share with us, these included his didgeridoo, boomerangs, stone axe, shield, hunting items and his ambulance. Jeff took us outside and let everyone have a turn at throwing a boomerang, it was lots of fun. Jeff also showed us how he throws the 'returning boomerang'. "They don't come back you know" said Cooper. Cooper was completely amazed when Jeff threw the boomerang and "it really did come back". The children then had the opportunity to check out his ambulance and all the different things that it has. Thank you Jeff, and thank you Mick for arranging the visit!

Shelley's group headed to the RSL park today. We planted a tree for National Tree Day. (Thank you Nathan Brown for organising the tree.) With all the rain meant lots of puddles to explore and paper boats to float. It was Teagan's 1st time at "Bush Preschool" and she loved it.

We certainly had some rain today! The water cascaded into our yard from the street. We watched Cassie float a 'boat' on the water and into the yard but we wanted to get out there and check it out for ourselves. We all put on boots and raincoats and had a great time splashing and looking at where the water came into our yard. The Free Press also paid us a visit to take a photo of children playing in the puddles - so keep an eye out next week.

Here are some photos from our excursion yesterday to Billy's family property. The children (and adults) had a wonderful time climbing, exploring and discovering.

Today was the official opening of our new extension. In the pic John and Phil from Corowa RSL are with Shelley and some of our children ready to cut the ribbon. We are very grateful to the RSL along with the NSW State Govt Community Building partnership program for financially supporting our vision. We now have a front office where we can view people coming through the gate and a Parent Room where parents can have a catchup, therapists can work with children or private meetings are held. Thank you to everyone that came in to support us.

Shelley's group took a walk to RSL Park yesterday to collect some water so they could try to find some water bugs. Just like they did at Wirraminna last week.
