We have just received some lovely calendars featuring the beautiful south west region. These are free - courtesy of the South West Development Commission and their photography competition. If you would like one, please call into the Visitor Centre at 156 Throssell Street Collie. Limit of one calendar per person.
The Department of Parks and Wildlife has advised that due to some final road works planned for next week, Potters Gorge camping area and picnic site will be closed from Tuesday night; it is expected to reopen on Thursday morning 15th December.
The Visitor Centre is having a surge protector and new lights installed tomorrow the 8th of December so will be without power for quite awhile. So if you are trying to phone us we may not be able to answer due to our phones needing power or if you need to book tickets we may not be able to phone it through for you. We unfortunately do not know what time this will be occuring. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Department of Parks and Wildlife have advised that Lennard Drive in Wellington National Park will be CLOSED tomorrow (Tuesday 6th December) for road works. Lennard Drive is the road along the Collie River. Visitors can still access Honeymoon Pool from the north via River Road North, and then walk along the walking trail along the river.
When it comes to great Christmas gift ideas, don't forget the Collie Visitor Centre has a great range including locally made wood turned items, embroidered baby bibs, local honey, candle and soap products as well as blue wren items and lots more. Come and have a look!
The Department of Parks and Wildlife have advised us that tomorrow, Wednesday 23rd November, River Road in the Wellington National Park, will be closed from Wellington Dam Road to Honeymoon Pool from 8am to 5pm due to tree works. Honeymoon Pool can be accessed via Falcon Road and Lennard Drive, leaving via River Road south.
A total fire ban has been declared for the Shire of Collie. If you are going camping - no campfires please.
