Orara High School - Coffs Harbour, NSW Orara High School is located in Coffs Harbour on the NSW mid north coast.
It is a dynamic and vibrant school where our philosophy is to provide a quality learning environment which challenges all students to achieve their personal best and develop a positive vision for their future. This is being achieved through flexible and interactive learning programs and a range of academic environments.
We have excellent facilities and opportunities for students at Orara, not only academically, but also on the sporting field and through vocational programs. This allows students to pursue goals not only in the classroom but in the wider community and further.
The staff at Orara High are experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic. Through continual reflection and professional development, the teaching staff are able to adapt to the changing needs of the students they teach and the evolving curriculum.

Skoolbag provides schools with an easy way to tell parents/carers everything they need to know and it provides parents with the most convenient way to receive school notifications. No more lost paper in student school bags! School newsletters, school notices and alerts are communicated directly to the parent smartphone through the Skoolbag school Mobile App. For iPhone and iPad users: 1. Click the "App Store" icon on your Apple device. 2. Type your school name in the search, using suburb name will help. 3. If iPhone, you will see your school appear, click "Free" then "install". 4. If iPad, change the drop list to "iPhone Apps", your school will then be visible, click "Free" then "install". 5. When installed click "Open" 6. Select "OK" to receive push notifications, when asked. 7. Click the "More" button on the bottom right of the App, then "Setup". 8. Toggle on the Push Categories that are applicable for you. For Android users: You must first have signed up with a Google Account before installing the app. 1. Click the "Play Store" button on your Android Device 2. On May 15th and 16th the school will be gathering data from our students to assist with our future school plan for the ensuing three years. Further input will be sought from parents, staff and community later in the term to develop the plan. We will be hosting a community forum to further discuss and also receive your feedback. A big thanks to our Great Mates and staff who treated Year 7 and 9 students to breakfast this morning before Year 9 sat their NAPLAN Language Conventions test. Year 7 will sit their Language Conventions test this afternoon. NAPLAN Reading tests are on Wednesday with Literacy on Thursday. We wish our students all the best with their tests.

Orara HIgh School would like to introduce our new Faculty Leader Science, Mr Dallas Smith. Mr Smith comes to OHS from the Shellharbour region and has lived in coastal towns from the South Coast of NSW. He has worked in both metropolitan and regional High Schools and is keen to promote Science and Technology at Orara High School. Please make Mr Smith welcome.

Attention all Year 7 & 9 Students NAPLAN testing will be held next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in the school hall. Breakfast will be provided for Years 7 and 9 students from 8:10am in the BBQ Area behind the School Administration block.

The staff and students of Orara would like to thank Mr Matt Spooner, manager of Officeworks, Coffs Harbour for his generous donation of 40 calculators and related stationery. The donation will assist those students completing their NAPLAN assessments next week.

Orara High School Under 14's Rugby League team take on Dorrigo High School in Round 1 of the state wide contested Buckley Shield this Friday 6 May at 10:30am. We'd like to invite parents and family of those students playing to come along and cheer on the team.
