NEWS from Grafton OOSH - OOSH
NEWS from GRAFTON OOSH With this beautiful weather we have been having lately we are now making great use of our pool. We are swimming every afternoon and will be swimming every day in the upcoming holidays. Please pack the kiddies with swimmers, a towel and a rashie (a t-shirt is fine) if they would like to swim. Our vegie garden has been cleared out and replanted. The kids love watching their hard work pay off when the vegies grow. We have started picking our beans, snow peas and cucumbers and have used them in our cooking experiences or on our fruit/veg platters in after school care. Term 3 also saw the start of our pen pal project between the centres. We have been making new friends with our Woopi & Korora centres. This is not only fun but it also enhances great qualities such as reading and writing skills, social skills, patience – just to name a few. Please let staff know if you would like to add your child’s name to this great, fun activity. We have had a few new staff over the past few months. Susan, Ellie, Chayah & Gemma have joined our OOSH family. They have fitted in nicely and the kids have enjoyed getting to know them. Please feel free to say hi and introduce yourself. Of course we still have our old regulars with Kellie, Mitch, Josh & Nikitta. We also welcomed Bob – our new bus driver and maintenance man. Regards Kellie

News Update from Korora OOSH Term 4 is a very busy time – lots of things to celebrate, investigate and great fun to be had in the lead up to our Christmas Holidays. ……speaking of fun TUESDAYS AT THE POOL. Each Tuesday we go on excursion to Korora Squash and Swim for an afternoon of pool play, squash, ball games and ping pong. This term also sees us investigating all things buggy and beastly. We will be doing activities based on the theme Mini Beast and Bugs…. So far we have had a bug hunt using magnifiying glasses, made bug habitats and found an endangered butterfly we are fundraising for. Our new garden beds are blooming, we have aloe vera, nastursiums, cherry tomatoes, shallots and mixed lettuce up and growing. The kids are doing a great job of growing seeds in our hothouse and then watering them as seedlings before they go in our garden beds. Regards Michelle Whackett
