Are you sick of setting goals each New Year but never achieving them? Follow these easy steps to ensure you succeed in 2017! 1. Only set one or two goals and write them down. Too many goals lead to confusion and imbalance. Ultimately we achieve less, not more, when we have too many goals. 2. Goals need to be specific and they need to be measured using more than one means - don't always rely on the scales! 3. Take some time to reflect on why your goal is important to you and how it will improve your life. 4. Break the goal down into small, achievable steps that can be ticked off daily. 5. Flexibility is everything. As we progress towards a goal, plans can change. New circumstances can alter our capacity. When this happens, focus on continued progress, learning, and mastery, even if it is not in the direction anticipated. 6. Expect to fail. You will. Most people who have achieved something great have failed over and over again before finally nailing it. Stop and reflect on which factors caused you to fail and then reset. Don't be afraid to ask for help. See our personal trainers in club for guidance, support and to help you plan for success in 2017!
