Ride In Cinema The Coburg Velodrome ‘Ride In Cinema’ is Australia’s only outdoor cinema experience designed specifically to encourage its audience to ride their bikes literally right into the movies.
Located at the iconic Coburg Velodrome, audience members can expect a truly unique experience watching cult classics and new releases under the stars against the industrial backdrop of Coburg Norths factory district.
The site is within short walking distance from Batman train station and Sydney Road trams, with ample on site car parking and secure bicycle stations within the Velodrome itself.
Operating every Saturday night in February, the program kicks off with the critically acclaimed new Star Wars release ‘Rogue One on Saturday 4th, followed by family classic E.T. on the 11th Feb, critically acclaimed Oscar nominated La La Land18th of February and finishing off with the Cohen Brothers comedy hit ‘The Big Lewbowski’.
In addition to film screenings the Velodrome will host numerous food trucks and a custom built cocktail and candy bar.

SEASON FINISHES EARLY DUE TO HIGH RISK WIND CONDITIONS. We regret to announce the CANCELATION of our remaining two February screenings; tomorow's Saturday 18th LA LA LAND and next weeks Saturday 25 screening of THE BIG LEBOWSKI. Cancelation is due to advice we have received regarding concerns related to unexpected high velocity winds experienced at the Velodrome over our past 2 events. These conditions pose a risk to our 8 metre screen in both a patron safety capacity as well as impact on screen quality. The Velodrome’s geographic position and concave shape can under certain circumstances amplify high winds unique to the area. We expect to have this issue resolved by next summers screenings with revised engineering plans currently in review.. Our screenings of Rogue One and E.T. were fantastic successes and we would like to thank those you who made it down and joined us in realising the bright future out door film screenings have at the Velodrome following this first years limited trial season. We will be back next year with bigger program running several days a week and we look forward to seeing you again early 2018! THIS WEEKS SCREENING CANCELLED DUE TO POOR WEATHER: We are sorry to announce this week's screening of La La Land - Sat 18 February has been cancelled due to storms forecast. Ticket holders are entitled to a full refund or exchange for tickets to next weeks screening of The Big Lebowski.
