I thought I'd share some tips for our furry friends as the weather heats up ☀️☀️☀️ * be sure to have more than one water source and that their bowls are in the shade. * don't leave pets in a car * walk your dogs early morning or late afternoon to avoid heat exhaustion. Footpaths and roads can burn their pads * hutched, caged or chained animals need to be in a spot where they are shaded the whole day. Better still and if possible, bring them inside for the day. * heat exhaustion can be very serious. Call your vet asap if your pet is suffering or having trouble breathing. * to cool your pet, place a cool, damp towel/face washer over them (even some cats will tolerate this!) or take them for a swim. * a clam or turtle shell make an awesome pool! * leave a water bowl out for wildlife * and if you're hot, they're hot so wherever possible, bring your pet inside for the day
**FYI** Vitamins are a very diverse group of nutrients divided into two types: Fat soluble: Vitamins A, D, E and K. These vitamins are essential to a healthy life, are required in small quantities (micrograms or less) per day, and the excess is stored in the liver and body fat. Water soluble: thiamin (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), pyridoxine (B6), pantothenic acid, folic acid, biotin, cobalamin (B12), choline, and carnitine. These vitamins are essential to a healthy life and are required in small quantities (micrograms or less) per day as well. However, water soluble vitamins (except for B12) are not stored in the body and therefore must be consumed daily. B12 is stored in the liver, and it has been estimated that most healthy people, dogs, and cats have a 2-5 year supply stored in the liver.

For your convenience and your pets health, I now have a food available which meets your dogs nutritional requirements. After much research and trial and error with my own allergic dogs, I have produced a recipe which is healthy and palatable. I believe a raw diet is better than a cooked diet for our dogs, however that is easier said than done. So to help transition to a raw diet some of the meat in this pack is only partially cooked. A 500 gm pack contains 4 to 6 meals for small dogs. Mixing with your usual dry biscuit is recommended. Offering your dog fresh raw meals is also recommended. Chicken is currently available with a larger variety to become available in the near future. Please feel free to message me for further information or to place an order. :) joanne $10.00 per 500 gm Portion

Water is essential to life and is the largest component of the body, accounting for between forty and eighty percent of body mass. Hence clean, fresh water should be available to your pet at all times. Pets fed canned or homemade diets will voluntarily drink less water than when fed a dry diet. Pets that eat dry foods will consume more water from a bowl or other readily available sources. Its a good idea to have both inside and outside water sources.

It’s important that the diet you feed your dog is “complete and balanced,” meaning it meets all of your dog’s nutritional needs. It is not important, however, that every meal be complete and balanced, unless you feed the same meal every day with little or no variation. Home-prepared diets that include a wide variety of foods fed at different meals rely on balance over time, not at every meal. Similar to the way humans eat, as long as your dog gets everything he needs spread out over each week or two, his diet will be complete and balanced.
