How do you choose the right colour Lipstick?
When searching for a new lipstick shade... the best place to test for the ideal colour is on any of your finger tips! (that is, if you can not try it on your lips!)
The reason being that the colour of the skin on your fingertips is the closest match to your lips. If the lipstick colour looks great on your finger tip you can bet that it will suit you. Try it and see!
What can I do to make my lipstick stay put longer?
1. Try dabbing a little makeup primer on your lips. Let this dry then apply a coat of your favourite lipstick.
2. Separate a tissue into one ply and, keeping your mouth closed, place the tissue against your lips.
3. Use a powder puff and lightly press some loose face powder against the tissue. Fine particles of powder will help to 'set' your lipstick.
4. Remove the tissue then apply a 2nd coat of lipstick. Voila! Your lipstick is 'set' and will last a lot longer.
Rough, Dry Lips?
Lipstick doesn't look very attractive on cracked dry lips. It seems to exaggerate the problem.
A quick fix for this issue is to:
1. Exfoliate your lips with a gentle exfoliating product.
2. Apply a good quality lip balm before you start your makeup.
3. Leave lip balm on for as long as possible then just before you apply your lipstick, gently blot off the majority of the balm. Your lips will be more hydrated.
4. Apply lipstick.
