Recently I have been asked: How come that your coffee shop is not on the list of the 50 best coffee shops in Melbourne? Like a light bulb something came to me I have stopped and thought about it, trying to figure out how this list thing works? Trying to find out how as a small business owner I can reach the editors of this list? Just to let the editors know that there is a small coffee shop that makes beautiful fresh food and quality coffee? So ... I Googled and found out the following information: The answer surprised me very much. And made me quite unhappy ... The list of the 50 best coffee shops in Melbourne is based on money. The higher you're campaign is, the higher you will be in their list. simply all depends on how much your business willing to pay to advertise your business (Marketing). This means that the list is built on the 50 richest cafes in Melbourne, and not on the best quality coffee shops in melbourne. The list is not built on customer reviews or preference. The list is built on: you pay more, you will be rated up on the list. You pay less and you will be the end of the list. The public does not choose who will be on the list. The customers are not choosing the best coffee, or if the service is good or if the food is freshly served at a high quality and affordable. My self like most of you, have been fooled. At least once a week I went to check out the cafes from the list. This is certainly misleading the public.
