Christ the Redeemer Sunday Mass times 9am Arabic & 10:30am English Mass - Oakhill College Chapel Castle Hill
6pm - Our Lady of Lourdes Baulkham Hills This initiative is with the encouragement and blessing of His Excellency Bishop Antoine-Charbel Tarabay and in accordance with the Sixth Priority, “Maronite Outreach” of our Maronite Diocesan Seven Year Plan set by the Bishop in 2013, where, with the support of Clergy and laity the Bishop aims to open new Mass Centres, and develop new Maronite parishes”

Why a new Mass Centre? To bring the Maronites of the Hills area together to form a new and vibrant Maronite Community of the Hills and to form a new Maronite Parish.

Why a new Parish? To cater for the spiritual needs (faith, community and mission) of the fast growing number of Maronites in the area especially the second generation of young families and the youth growing up in these families for the next 50-100 years. Also to attract back Maronites who have lost connection with their Maronite Church and traditions due to the distance existing in Maronite Church location, language, disaffection or attraction to other denominations.

Shepherds corner by Monsignor Shora Maree 'Sundays of the Commemorations and Alpha' Dear Parishioners, This Sunday we move into the Three Sundays of the Commemorations, Commemoration of the Priests, the Righteous and the Just, and the Faithful Departed. These three Weeks Commemorate all the Baptised who throughout the centuries have lived out their Baptismal calling and mission in this world including those called to the Priesthood, Religious and Consecrated life and the Single life and have gone before us in death to the next world. It is like a “bridge’ Season between the Season of Epiphany where celebrate the Baptism of Jesus and reflect on the Gift and Calling of our Baptism and the Season of Great Lent which is the Season calling us to repentance for our failings and to be renewed in our Baptismal calling with the Risen Christ. These three Sundays remind us that we are all called to a mission and purpose for the Lord and his Church in this life and we will hopefully be amongst all those who have left this world awaiting the gift of Eternal Life. This week we hosted Training Days for Alpha, a Course designed to help us grow in our faith and experience of God and leading us to hear the love and call of God more deeply in our lives. The course involves coming to small gatherings of 8-12 people in a relaxed environment to share a light meal with time to mix, watching a Video and then joining in a discussion on questions and issues from the Video. Following is Leena Abouhamad’s reflections on her experience with Alpha My experience with Alpha- Leena Abouhamad. Alpha has stirred an excitement that I didn’t realise was lying dormant within me. I must say that a certain confidence was built amongst the group of us that came for the Course for 2 days. We began as strangers and now have forged lasting relationships. It was as inspirational few days that gave me a thirst for the Holy Spirit and this experience quenched that thirst. Questions were answered that were like missing pieces of a puzzle which in turn helped me to an awakening of a deeper faith. We also shared wonderful life experiences in a comfortable hospitable and non-threatening environment. Also during our time together in the Alpha Course, I realised my fears and was lead to replace them with courage, and this gave me a renewed FREEDOM, A freedom to love JESUS even more. I didn’t think that was possible. Also remember Jesus was not afraid to show emotion, he cried publicly for Lazarus… this is a place where I am coming from my heart to your heart. I invite you to come, the Holy Spirit awaits you to fill you with an everlasting joy. I encourage and urge you not to miss this opportunity to participate in this journey with us. Jesus said: “DO NOT BE AFRAID.” Do not be afraid of what you will discover, I guarantee, it will be beautiful. Amen
