Castle Hill PCYC Toastmasters
Description
We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills. The world needs leaders. Leaders head families, coach teams, run businesses and mentor others. These leaders must not only accomplish, they must communicate. By regularly giving speeches, gaining feedback, leading teams and guiding others to achieve their goals in a supportive atmosphere, leaders emerge from the Toastmasters program. Every Toastmasters journey begins with a single speech. During their journey, they learn to tell their stories. They listen and answer. They plan and lead. They give feedback—and accept it. Through our community of learners, they find their path to leadership.
We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.

As a new and developing club we were all excited by seeing a number of new faces and experienced Toastmasters come a long and join in the nights activities. Esther Bank presented an outstanding speech and received the General Evaluators Award. Nick James stepped up for the first time and present an entertaining Table Topic Speech. Nice work, very impressive. Looking to more. Our next meeting is Wednesday 22nd March. We would like to see lots of new faces. Check out the next event and click on going.

Last Wednesday, we enjoyed company of new guests and fellow Toastmasters from other clubs around Townsville; it was a highlight of the night. It was an engaging and entertaining night. Table Topic session by Esther provide a challenge for 5 speakers to practice off the cuff speeches in the Table Topic Session. There was 3 speakers (Denis, Neil and Vivienne) who presented entertaining and humorous speeches with all 3 speakers provided with positive and encouraging feedback to consider for their next speech. Guests are always welcome at our meetings. This meeting we welcomed Mel and Kate. We look forward to our next meeting and seeing them both commence their Toastmasters journey. Congratulations to Sharon Kelly for an outstanding evaluation of both the Table topic session and Denis's speech. Also on her first presentation Mel entertained us with a interesting story and was awarded best Table Topics. Nice work Mel.
