Awestralia Guesthouse
Description
Australian family style guesthouse for international travellers. Awestralia Guesthouse was created from experiences Russell & Bernadette had whilst travelling themselves,. During their foreign travels they were constantly amazed at the lengths which complete strangers would go to assist them & vowed to do the same upon their return.
Some of their best memories are of places where they lived with local families thus getting a more genuine cultural experience. Being closer to the ground allowed them to experience that particular country’s day to day cultural events & that family’s life stories.
It is from those experiences Awestralia Guesthouse was born.
Russell & Bernadette wanted to recreate that situation for foreign travellers in Australia. To enable first time travellers (many with limited English) to feel safe, to get grounded, to share an Aussie family’s point of view & to possibly assist foreign travellers to enrich their stay.
As travellers themselves they understand the diverse situations which arise in a foreign country & are only too willing to assist you through them. From local knowledge with bus travel, to assistance with arranging vehicle registration to simple help with the vast distances involved in Aussie travel. Helping with what bites, what stings, what to see,….. & knowing that Wolf Creek is not all true!
Being parents themselves they realise it means a lot to your family to know you are safe while travelling & so they welcome enquires from travellers loved ones prior to & during your stay.
If you would like a truly Australian family experience then Awestralia Guesthouse is the place for you. Situated in Buderim it is ideally located, (approx 100 klms from Brisbane Airport & approx 8 klms from Maroochydore Airport) . Use it as a base while exploring the unique natural beauty of the Sunshine Coast & Hinterland. The position is best suited for travellers with a car however advantage can be taken of the bus service at the end of the road. Stay close to famous beaches, visit hinterland districts like Maleny & Montville, enjoy world class mountain biking at Parklands, visit Steve Irwin’s Australia Zoo, use your stay as a stepping stone to the north. Your choice of adventure is endless!
Your hosts, Russell & Bernadette are travellers themselves so they always ensure their guest’s stay is memorable. Whether 1 week or many weeks you will be made most welcome.
You may choose to pay for your stay or work for your stay. Accommodation rates vary. By choosing to work for accommodation you are helping with the conservation aspect of the Land for Wildlife property as well as saving money. The workload is manageable & can be tailored to suit most individuals. It changes with the seasons, sometimes it is pruning/weeding/cutting back other times it involves planting/landscape/track building. During wet weather household cleaning & maintenance can be carried out.
