Many thanks to everyone who has contributed to my request for info about Julius Tahija. It’s proving to be VERY useful and informative. Over the past several years I’ve been using the resources of the National Archives and Trove along with various forums and military websites but sometimes you can’t always find what you’re looking for. While the National Archives has some fantastic info at hand there’s been times a file I thought would proof useful has provided little more than was already known so I’m reluctant to keep paying for files to be opened. It’s a bit of a lottery as it doesn’t take long to start running up a hefty bill, for me now it’s a last resort to pay for the unknown. This Facebook page has proved to be a new and very handy source of info and research material, it’s great having so many sharing and more importantly caring about SRD/ZSU. I’ll be away from the computer most of the day but eagerly await reading the info you’ve all provided and following the links for Julius Tahija, again many thanks. Cheers, Lionel Aitken ~ Zed Media

Thanks Jackie Byrne, I believe Julius Tahija wrote a book called "Horizon Beyond" and chapter 2 has something about his time with ZSU. My email address is lions@zedmedia.com.au

Can you help? As part of our ongoing research into SRD/ZSU we're seeking some information about Julius Tahija who served with ZSU. I've been unable to find any info in the usual online locations so I'm hoping someone in this group will be able to provide me with either directions as to where I can find that info or already has some info to share about Mr Tahija. Thank you.

Doco series update. Our series in honour of Z Special Unit is to be "pitched" at one of the worlds biggest TV/Film conferences in France this October. Hopefully this will attract some serious interest and move us a step closer to completing what has been a 6 year odyssey.

After 6 long years of struggle we have finally attracted the interest of a major production company who've expressed initial interest in our ZSU documentary series. An informal meeting in Sydney this week with the head of international co-productions from the company in the UK has given us fresh hope that the series might finally be completed.
