Description
The Fabrication Workshop (FabShop for short) at RMIT Brunswick campus is a fully kitted workshop space with both digital and traditional tools. RMIT University promotes design practice as an agent of cultural change; emphasising design research as an integral component of scholarship. These activities are supported by state of the art equipment in the School of Fashion and Textiles workshops. Our facilities range from garment construction spaces to complex workshops with heavy machinery. These workshops are equipped with machines traditionally associated with sewing, textile printing and weaving, but with the addition of the FabShop, are now augmented by a broad collection of traditional hand tools for plastics, composites, timbers and metals, as well as a diverse range of additive and subtractive facilities, such as 3D printers, laser cutters, and CNC milling machines.
