Spent this morning finishing off the upstairs balcony garden with some herbs, Jasmine and gardenias 🌼 We now have rosemary, mint, parsley, sage and thyme for you guys to help yourself to! Yes, I am going to make a great wife one day. #thebachelor

Squashing the “meal prep/healthy eating is hard” excuse! Procedure for mine: 1) Go to shops, buy food 2) Chop up vegetables (2-3 minutes) 3) Place vegetables on a tray and season. I used olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper, and some dried Italian herbs. 4) Pop in the oven for around an hour at 170. They will look after themselves, you can go and do other things while they are cooking! Serve with protein of your choice, and a carbohydrate of your choice (I’m using chicken and brown rice)

Nick asked me an amazing question this afternoon, and I would like to share my answer with you guys! Nick: Drew, what happens when someone starts training, and they don’t particularly follow our recommendations, and don’t lose much weight? How do we approach that scenario? Drew: Firstly, their journey with us is not just about weight loss. Weight loss is a side effect of a clients experience with us. Secondly, our job is to educate each individual to the best of our knowledge base. We present evidenced-based information to every client - not opinions, not trends - but real evidence. Through this education comes success. Lastly, not everyone is ready, willing and able to change their habits yet. Just because someone comes in wishing to lose weight, it doesn’t mean they are READY to lose weight. By educating, coaching and empathizing with each individual, we create small, incremental changes, which in time leads to astonishing long term results. We don’t guilt, we don’t pressure, weigh, grill or taunt our clients. We care for them, provide the best environment to train, and educate them along their journey. So, just because someone hasn’t lost weight, it doesn’t mean they haven’t become stronger, fitter, healthier, more energized, more educated, empowered, or motivated. That number on the scale often means very little in the general scheme of life and health.

❗Ok, guys, we NEED to understand this one thing: The principles of energy balance work. ✅Take in more calories/energy than you expend, chronically, you gain wait. ✅Take in less calories/energy than you expend, chronically, you lose weight. However, the process of counting calories as a way to try to know, and control, your energy intake is flawed for many. 1) For starters, calorie counters are imprecise. 2) We don't absorb all of the calories we consume. 3) How you prepare food changes its calorie load. 4) Individuals absorb calories uniquely, and variably. 5) People aren't great at eyeballing portion sizes. We have a much better way of helping people get results.
