We use Facebook to complement information already on our council website. Sometimes this promotes discussion among our followers, however as an "open comment" page we moderate comments that are rude or offensive.
If you wish to contact Council you should call our customer service team on (08) 8080 3300.
It may not be cool to "like" a council's library page, but if you are a Facebook user and you like the mobile age of communication, we invite you to participate in this page.
We do not encourage notice board type content on council's library page, and will remove notices that are promoting events or causes.
There are other pages on Facebook that are dedicated to spreading your word about your business and events.

This session starts at 5.30pm on Friday 26th May. Elaine Welteroth is a trendsetter - and not just in cosmetics, fashion or other cliches that spring to mind when you think of a teen magazine. Elaine was named Editor-in-Cheif of Teen Vogue in 2016, the youngest person ever appointed to this role. But what has people talking is the depth and beradth of coverage - from powerful political stories on US President Donald Trump to religious freedom and video posts from Native American women protesting the Dakota Access pipeline. She speaks with Slate Editor-in-Cheif Julia Turner.

Join the Computer Club this week as we explore some of the ways that tech can be fun. We will be playing with the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Wii gaming platforms as well as looking at some other devices that can make learning technolgy fun! The Computer Club meets between 11am and 1pm on Thursdays during the school term. This is a free group and everyone is welcome to join in.
Next up for the Sydney Writers Festival - Live and Local we have a panel talking about "Writing Race". This session starts at 4pm on Friday 26th May. Man Boker Prize winner Paul Beaty, "The Sellout", wonce said: "I wish I could say race is a construct...it's all in our mind. But while there's some truth in that, in the real world it's just not the case." He joins celebrated writers - Anuk Arudpragasm, "The Sotry of a Brief Marriage", Maxine Beneba Clarke, "The Hate Race" and guest currator Ellen van Neerven, "Comfort Food" - to discuss race in today's literary and cultural landscape, with Roanna Gonsalves, "The Permanent Resident" as moderator.

Susan Faludi and Sofija Stefanovic have a conversation about "In the Darkroom" as part of the Sydney Writers Festival Live and Local. This session will start at 2.30pm on Friday 26th May. When Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and bestselling author of "Backlash", Susan Faludi learned her estranged 76 year old father had undergone gender confirmation surgery, she began examining the meaning of identity. Susan also analysed her enigmatic father and her own family's haunted past. She talks to Sofija Stefanovic about "In the Darkroom, which she crossed borders - historical, political, religous and sexual to confront the question of th age: is idenity soemthing we choose or is it something we can't escape.

Next up in the Sydney Writers Festival Live and Local line up is a converstation between James Shapiro and Tom Wright which starts at 1pm on Friday 26th May. James Shapiro is one of the world's leading experts on Shakespear. His latest book, "1606: The Year of Lear" was short listed among the best books of 2016 by The Wall Street Journal, The Times Supplement and The Guardian. he speaks with Tom Wright about 1606: the year that produced King Lear, Macbeth and Antony and Cleopatra. In James' deft hands, quantities of research become a brisk and animated history, as he illuminates Shakespeare's burst of creativity against the backdrop of a "troubled national mood."
The Sydney Writers Festival, Live and Local, presents a "Songs of a War Boy" a conversation between Deng Adut and Suzanne Leal. This session wil start at 11am on Friday 25th May. Conscripted at age 7 into Sudan's brutal civil war, Deng Adut was groomed to handle an AK47 instead of a pencil. He escaped bullet wounds, atrocities and near starvation to become a lawyer, refugee advocate and NSW Australian of the Year. his memior (Songs of a War Boy), is equally remarkable as it was written by a man who learned English by watching The Wiggles. He shares his inspiring story with Suzanne Leal.
The Sydney Writers' Festival will be kicking off at 9.30am on Friday 26th May! Our first session is a panel discussion - "A Murderer in the Family". Authors Nadja Spiegleman, Hisham Matar and Susan Faludi will talk to Michael Williams about the challenges and consequences of writing from life. Susan Faludi (In the Dark Room) talks about her father's life and their reconciliation after her father, Stefanie, has gender confirmation surgery. Hisham Matar (The Return) discusses the influence of his fathers disappearance on his writing, and his trip back to Libya thre decades after his family's exile. Nadja Spieglman (I'm Supposed to Protect You From All This) talks about retracing three generations of mother-daughter relations.
