Creating a brighter future for children in foster care At The Pyjama Foundation, we provide children in foster care the opportunity to change the direction of their lives with learning, life skills and confidence.
Through the Love of Learning program, volunteers called ‘Pyjama Angels’ are recruited, screened, trained and then matched with a child in care and spend time with them once a week, focusing on learning-based activities.
Pyjama Angels read books aloud with their child, play educational games and help children with their homework. Most importantly, the volunteers give foster children a chance to reach their life potential, despite a fragile start. Children in care have the lowest education outcomes nationally.
By improving their learning skills, The Pyjama Foundation is making a positive, life-long impact.

We have had such an amazing week at our 2016 Camp for Kids in Care, down at the Tallebudgera Recreational Centre, Gold Coast! 40 kids and their carers were treated to a week filled with fun activities including kayaking, beach games, high ropes, giant swing and so much more! It was incredible to see the children make new friends and memories that will be a highlight of their childhood. Foster Carers were also treated to a special dinner and massage - some much-needed respite. This Camp would not have been possible without our generous donors from our Crowdfunding Campaign in March, and to our corporate donors: Phil Di Bella, Rotary Club of Ashmore, Andy Griffiths and Soroptimist Gold Coast. Thank you for allowing us to give these foster families such a great opportunity to bond and create fun, bright memories!

The biggest thank you ever to the Lions Club of Lyndhurst in Victoria. Thank you for everything you have done for all of us here at The Pyjama Foundation. The children, our carers and all of us will be forever grateful to you for welcoming us into your community and wanting to do everything you can to support what we do. We are so blessed to have such a supportive and caring community who share the common goal of brightening the lives of kids living in care.
