Moggill Family Day Care
Description
Family Day Care is home-based quality care for your child by a qualified Educator.
We love to read, sing, play, garden and work with animals. My Philosophy
At my Family Day Care science, nature, natural history, animals and diversity guides my teaching and the activities that I plan.
Quality education is just not about telling but also showing. Hands-on learning is a big part of the curriculum I offer and is vital to peaking a child’s interest.
I will build upon each child’s natural curiosity with activities that will inspire, teach sustainability and a respect for the world around them.
Because children learn from birth, I work closely with families to show them many new things.
Including, but not limited to: animals; gardening; cuisines; geography; and a multitude of cultures.
Since the best way to learn is through play, we will use the toys, craft supplies, books and excursions to learn about the world around us.
Routines help children build confidence in a new environment and help them when it’s time to say goodbye to parents.
We have a daily routine which each child will grow familiar with and know what to expect throughout the day.
Communication in my care is not just between Educator and parents but also children. Each day, time will be put aside for the children to talk about the things in their Family Day Care environment that they like, don’t like and might like to build upon (e.g. They had fun gardening and watching the potatoes grow, now let’s cook with them or grow something else they like).
I aim to make my care the least stressful and most helpful to parents whilst providing a wonderful experience to children.
I appreciate all feedback and look forward to working with you in the near future to give your child(ren) the best possible start in life.
Sincerely,
Ruby :)

Today's lunch looks amazing - because we grew some of it! Lettuce, rocket and parsley in the salad was picked about 5mins ago (decided to omit the radish as it's a bit spicy) The children helped me this morning to make the homemade chicken nuggets and to make the avocado dip to dip them in! YUMMY!!! 🌱🍽🌱

By placing fresh mulberry leaves in coloured water the leaves will soak up the dye and (hopefully) turn the silk of the silkworms pink/red and green! (The normal colour being white or yellow, as seen below from our very first silkworm cocoon) The children help put the fresh leaves in, then a few hours later give them to the silkworms.
