Today I was privileged to be amongst passionate birth workers, Mums, Dads and bubs that wish the AMA to know Midwife led care IS safe. The AMA has published inflammatory remarks in regards to Midwives and safe birthing. Moving women away from midwife led care will only lead to an increase in unnecessary interventions including csection. It will reduce women's choices in birthing and disempower our beliefs that our bodies can birth. I have access to safe care. It is Midwife Led Care and it has been PROVEN to be safer with better outcomes for mothers and babies. Obstetricians that support Midwives support Birthing Women. The AMA wishes to remove the midwife from birth. The meaning of "midwife" is with women. Midwives are the keepers of natural undisturbed birthing. Support Our Midwives!!
