Our Hosting Server was successfully upgraded earlier this morning to the latest CPanel release version number 60. Early next week we will post about the new features we think will make your website hosting management experience even smoother!

We will be upgrading to the latest "CPanel" version 60 on SATURDAY morning between approximately 5 AM and 6 AM (Brisbane timezone). During this time there may be intermittent loss of connectivity to your website and/or email services. We will monitor all websites following the upgrade to ensure a smooth transition. Cpanel does NOT affect your websites, it is the management website on our Hosting Server. You use Cpanel to manage your actual hosting account. Once the upgrade is completed we will post a summary of the new features in this Version 60.

We have reduced the need to perform maintenance reboots on our Hosting platform Server (which cause downtime and therefore must be scheduled in off hours and communicated in advance to customers) by installing "KernelCare". This great tool auto checks for critical security updates every 4 hours and automatically installs them without requiring a reboot! The end result is we can more quickly patch our Server from discovered security issues and greatly reduce the inconvenience to our customers. We have more service improvements to come so keep checking our Facebook page for details.

Service Restoration Notice: The unplanned outage of earlier today was resolved at about 5pm EST. All websites are reporting a status of UP. Hostcake apologises for the downtime.

Dirty Cow! - no it's not what you are thinking! Rather, over the last week or so there has been some media coverage of a recently discovered security issue with Linux (the Operating System your websites run on). The "Dirty Cow" vulnerability was patched over the weekend on the Hostcake Server so you can rest assured all cows are clean and healthy. https://dirtycow.ninja/

Some users are reporting a "Licence Expired" error when trying to use the Softaculous Apps installer in their Cpanel. We have contacted the Softaculous support people as the licence in use on our Server is showing as Not Expired on the licence checker website. Updates will be posted shortly.

We have discovered this morning that some customers who have "https" websites secured by an "SSL Certificate" are displaying an error: Error:35 SSL connect error Purchases from the website online shopping carts can still be made however the connection is not secured by the SSL certificate and some customer web browsers will display a warning to that effect. We have our Server admins looking into this issue urgently and will post updates as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience!
