Family Life Education Program
Dear School Families, Your Parent Association is pleased to be able to once again host the Family Life Education Program, fully supported by the School Council. This program was held last year and was hugely popular. This non-compulsory sexuality education program is for the children to attend WITH a parent / guardian. It complements the program currently taught in Yrs 5&6 (run by the same organisation) and in addition provides age appropriate information for students in younger years. The program will run in the evening of Wednesday 2 August, in our school hall, with three separate sessions for each group: - Yr1&2 5.45-6.45pm Body Basics Yr3&4 7-8pm Where Did I Come From? Yr5&6 8.15-9.15pm Preparing For Puberty The age groups are indicative and children can attend up or down grade levels depending on your own family needs. The cost is $20 per family for one session or $25 per family for 2 or more session - that’s right! Maximum $25 per family to attend all sessions! Konnichiwa Parents, A big thank you to all the BBPS families who have offered to host our Japanese guests. From July 25 to July 30, Brighton Beach Primary School will host 20, Grade 6 students from a variety of schools in the Minato district in Japan. (Beaumaris Primary School also host 20 students). Minato is an area/district of Tokyo. It’s similar to saying the 'Bayside' district of Melbourne. Minato, being a port, also shares with us, a 'seaside' location…. BBPS have been hosting Minato-ku students now for 11 years, and we are very fortunate to be part of this program. It offers students from both Countries, an opportunity to create friendship connections and share cultural understandings. The Minato-ku students join Brighton Beach students in class, learning about Australian education, and participate in a number of other activities during their stay with us. And the Minato-ku students share their Japanese culture with us through things such as origami, calligraphy and kendama. We look forward to welcoming our Japanese guests and enjoying this valuable cultural exchange…..

It's that time of year again.... 🏈 The annual "Battle of Brighton" Dad’s Footy match between the mighty Brighton Beach Dreamers and the Brighton Primary Lions will take place on Saturday August 5th at Peterson St Reserve, Highett. In our 7th year, with 3 wins each....this is the match that will decide who will take the lead and be the 'True Champions!'
