Description
Whitehorse Primary School is a co-educational school that caters for children from Foundation to Grade 6. Our campus is located in Blackburn North. Our attractive campus is located in a quiet residential area. We have a diverse student population and a warm, friendly and caring community.
We are a school committed to a culture of teaching and learning excellence. We are very proud of our strong academic program and a rich curriculum that develops the whole child and promotes real-world learning. Our class structure allows for a highly flexible, developmental approach to classroom learning. Catering to individual learning needs and interests prepares our children for living, working and succeeding in an increasingly globalised, digital world.
The cornerstones of Literacy and Numeracy are given strong emphasis in our daily timetable. Children learn other foundation subjects - such as Science, Humanities, Health and Technology - through a holistic, inquiry-based approach. These Integrated Studies allow us to respond to the needs, ideas and interests of the children. Specialist teachers also provide dedicated weekly sessions in Visual Art, Music, Chinese, Library and Physical Education. Incursions, excursions and camps complement classroom learning. Technology is incorporated throughout our curriculum, with iPads providing engaging, personalised learning opportunities.

It's our annual Father's Day Stall today! Children will have the chance to “go shopping” and find a gift for Dad or someone special to them. Our lovely gift-ware range is priced between $1 and $6. Don't forget to bring a labelled shopping bag for taking purchases home. (Thank you to all the people who have kindly volunteered to come and help with sales - we look forward to seeing you this morning!)
It's nearly Spring and the the sun is out! 🌞 Don't forget to wear school hats again from 1 September onward.
WOW! What a great turn-out for our annual Father's Day Buffet. Over 210 kids, dads, grandads and other special people enjoyed a fantastic breakfast of croissants, danishes, muffins, toast, yoghurt and fruit before school.
There was much excitement this afternoon as the second of two special family excursions headed off to see the spectacular musical Aladdin at Her Majesty's Theatre.
The Nunawading District Summer Sports Round Robin starts tomorrow. Our senior students are off to represent the school in basketball, softball, cricket. tennis, frisbee and volleyball. Good luck everyone - have fun! ⚾🏏🏀🎾🏐

What a great milestone ... our Foundation students are celebrating "100 Days of School" today. To mark the occasion, special guests are joining us for a presentation and afternoon tea. Congratulations to all our Foundation students!
Looking for a FREE school holiday activity? Check out the amazing interactive inflatable installations by Melbourne-based artists Tin Nguyen and Ed Cutting, at Eastland. Kids from 2 - 12 years can explore the inside of a wormhole, learn about inflatable habitats or play on the surface of a distant planet. So. Much. Fun. 😀
