Remedial massage incorporates techniques consisting of :
Positional Release : relaxing and lengthening muscles when placing the body in a state of comfort through location of trigger points.

Muscle Energy :  therapist resisting clients contractions of 10-20% of effort. The goals consist of accomplishing muscle relaxation throughout the body and decreasing muscle spasms and cramps.

2.  Sport Massage -  The goals consist of increasing circulation, flexiblity and mental clarity before an athletic event. A sport massage focuses on using techniques to relax muscle tone, improve recovery of circulation, restoration of flexibility.

3. Sports Stretching-  Conducted after a remedial/sports and trigger point treatment as an addition to help the body relax, to help loosen stiff muscles and joints, treat injuries and weak areas of the body.

4. Myofascial Release - Restoring and maintaining connective tissue known as fascia. These techniques give exceptional results for rehabilitation of injuries and constant restrictions your having with the body. The actual application hands-on consists of a slow, but deep sustaining pressure targeting all layers of muscles at the barrier of resistance.

5. Swedish Massage - Swedish Massage is the most common form of massage. It is a gentle service consisting of long flowing movements. It works to deepen relaxation and relieve tight muscles. This treatment benefits in increasing oxygen in the blood,  improving circulation and decreasing stress levels.

6. Deep Tissue - Deep Tissue incorporates techniques used in Swedish Massage but provides deeper pressure application to the muscle tissue. This therapy is ideal for anyone with chronic pain, lower back pain, limited mobility, repetitive strains and ongoing muscle tension. The technique focuses on relaxing contracted muscles, reducing associated pain and enhancing movement.

7. Trigger Point Therapy- Trigger points are knots found in muscle tissue that need to be released. This type of massage will identify the exact locations of discomfort causing pain in other parts of the body. The massage therapist will target an isolated area of the body by applying pressure that may cause pain that's sharp, or intense. The use of trigger points will help naturally manage pain and stress from chronic injuries.

8.  Pre/Post Client Screening

Pre Treatment: Assessing range of movement throughout the body before treatment. Finding out the affected muscle groups that need work and formalising a treatment program.
Post Treatment: Re assessing the body after treatment to determine the changes of range of motion.

Glute stretches are essential for loosening up your entire body. After all, your glute muscles are some of your biggest muscles. If they do not get mobilised or stretched enough this puts a strain on your entire body. It can have a negative effect on all types of movement. Bending over, walking, lifting your legs and jumping are just a few of the things you may find difficult. Many people think that lower back pain is caused by problems with their lower back. Sure, in some cases it is...BUT..most of the time, it is due to tight glute muscles! Here are 3 other reasons to stretch your glutes: 1) Stretching your glutes after a workout helps spare you from a stiff body the next day. 2) Doing glute stretches will help keep you mobile as you age. 3) Stretching your glutes helps keep you injury free. HAPPY STRETCHING :)

Research shows that between 50 and 90 percent of people with chronic joint pain don’t sleep well. And, that sleep deprivation can lead to other health issues, including low energy, mood disorders and eating problems. If you have chronic pain in your hips, knees or shoulders, there are things you can do to limit how much the discomfort affects your nighttime rest, says Michael Schaefer, MD, Director of Musculoskeletal Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Cleveland Clinic. “A healthy brain is a well-rested brain. It can deal better with pain, such as arthritis, on an ongoing basis,” he says. “Lack of sleep, on the other hand, can directly affect your mood, and a bad mood can make it harder to cope with pain. This can become a vicious cycle.” #massagewithninawillhelp
