Remember Pasta Wednesday at Romano's Fine Foods. This week Pina is delighting us with Penne Alla Carbonara from our kitchen for takeaway lunches or an ready made dinner to take home. Carbonara (Italian: [karboหnaหra]) is an Italian pasta dish from Rome made with eggs, cheese (Pecorino Romano or Parmigiano-Reggiano),bacon (guanciale or pancetta), and black pepper. Spaghetti is the usual pasta; however, fettuccine, rigatoni, linguine, penne or bucatini can also be used. The dish was created in the middle of the 20th century. Bellissimo

Starting next Wednesday we will be adding to our lunch bar menu different varieties of Pasta made in store for your grab and go lunch or ready to eat dinner. The first Pasta from our kitchen will be Spiral pasta with fresh eggplant sauce called Pasta alla Norma. Norma is the name of the town in Sicily where this recipe originated from.
