Rock and Water for Girls This program consists of ten sessions that are designed to support girls in their journey to becoming powerful individuals. The Rock concept is used to enable girls to believe in their own strength and to increase their self-confidence. The Water concept works as a tool to help translate this new-found strength into communication with others. In conjunction with the school’s welfare program, Rock and Water for Girls program engages the students in physical activity and adopts a very practical approach to explore the different ways humans respond when confronted with choices or difficult situations in life. The program aims to promote wellbeing and emotional resilience in students and also in others around them.

Year 10 Global Ed - Broken Hill Update It has been another amazing trip filled with amazing people and learning of life skills by the students. On Thursday we headed out to work again. One group went to BCA house where we cleaned out much of the house in preparation for its new use in a couple of weeks. Another group went to help out Aunty Beryl, one of the nations leading indigenous leaders fix her garden at Menindie. When they arrived they were speechless. The roof was gone and much of the walls and inside was damaged. The group of ten students did a Herculanean job in clearing the house (Aunty Beryl was living elsewhere) and creating a garden from nothing that Beryl had wanted to honour the children she had lost over the last little while. Out of the outback a glorious garden has been created. It was truly amazing what all the students achieved on this day. On Saturday we went out to Penrose Park Silverton and held a picnic for the church kids and families. Each student took a child or a group of children and looked after them for the duration of the time out there. God has truly blessed us with amazing weather, just warm enough for a swim on Monday at Menindie and cooler weather previously, as the temperature heats up we have moved out (41 on Thursday)! Stuart Jones
