Long Nosed Potoroo digging in the lawn looking for any tasty morsels it can find. In the wild these guys are extremely important for the dispersal of certain fungi that live on the roots of particular eucalyptus and acacia trees that help them to absorb more water. These fungi are a major part of the Potoroos diet. The fungal spores are excreted and dispersed as the Potoroo moves about.

Did you know kangaroos sweat while excersing but as soon as they stop they also stop sweating, in order to cool themselves whilst at rest they lick their arms, Inside of the hind leg and testicles. This saliva they secrete when doing this is different to their normal saliva. The areas they lick have blood vessels close to the surface and by licking these areas the evaporation cools the blood that then travels thru the body cooling them down .
