Norwood Community Preschool is a not-for-profit organisation and has been operating in the local community since 1959. We are a ‘Registered Care Provider’ Norwood Community Preschool believes that all children have the right to feel safe and be free from harm. We will endeavour to provide an excellent learning environment for children before school in partnership with the children, their families and the community. This learning will be based on diversity and respect.
NCP is a valuable part of the local community having been operating for more than 50 years so that more than one generation of the same family has been able to attend. Our staff are a vital part of our organisation and we will support their long term commitment to this community with ongoing learning and reflective practice.
The uniqueness of our bushland environment is also of great importance to us and we will cherish it with sustainable practices.
Norwood Community Preschool is a not-for-profit organisation and has been operating in the local community since 1959.
Norwood is financially supported by fees from parents, NSW Government grants and parent fundraising.
No fees are charged for public holidays or during the NSW school holidays.
We are a ‘Registered Care Provider’ for Child Care Benefit (CCB) and a receipt will be provided to those eligible. As we are not a Long Day Care service we are unable to offer a Child Care Tax rebate (CCR).
The centre is licensed to enrol 25 children per day aged 3 to under 6 years old.
Our hours are 8.30am to 3.30pm and operate during NSW school terms.
Norwood Preschool is situated at the end of Chelmsford Rd close to Asquith train station, local bus services and has plenty of convenient, safe parking.
The learning environment is surrounded by bush and parkland.
We are fortunate to have plenty of shade and a large outdoor play area.

When the band comes to town!! This term we were lucky enough to have a visit from Asquith Primary Concert Band. The children were fascinated to learn about the different instruments and loved having a turn at conducting. Our teachers were also thrilled to see so many ex-Norwood children in the band.

Marble Run Mania - One of the children bought in photos of a marble run they had built at home out of recycled materials. The children were very interested so we sorted through our recycling and craft pieces to build our own Norwood Marble Run! The children experimented with angles and pipe placement, collaborating on this group project expressing creativity and imagination.

Today we had the pleasure of recognising one of our wonderful staff members for 20 years of service at Norwood Community Preschool. Mrs. Bev joined Norwood in 1996 and has been a much loved and respected member of the team ever since. Mrs. Bev is always one to go above and beyond with her commitment to the children, families and the preschool. CONGRATULATIONS on 20 years at Norwood Mrs. Bev!!!
