Situated in a Western Suburb of Melbourne, Australia, the Hobsons Bay Mens Shed can be found at 280 Queen Street Altona Beach 3018 see  www.hobsonsnet.com We Cater for Community Needs within the Hobsons Bay Area, We have a Broadband for Seniors Kiosk set up within our Building, The Woodwork Group is restoring a 70 year old Sailing Boat, and catering for the needs of Kindergarten and Welfare Groups within the Hobsons Bay area., we are currently working on a Raised Garden Beds program., We also have a Computer Recycling Group who provide restored computers to the elderly and the serious users, a newly set up Engineering Group, together with our Classic and Custom, Car and Motorbike Group have recently staged the Apex Park Mens Shed Car Show presented with the annual Hobsons Bay Altona Beach Festival, On show in the Recreation Room, you will see our working Model Train exhibit, our "Car Torque" Classic Car Group meet with the Public for a sausage sizzle and show their vehicles on the first Sunday of each Month at the Shed between 10:00 am and 3:00pm. and finally we have our Pelican Peddlers ( Tuesdays) Social Cycle Group, riding mainly on the tracks and pathways of Hobsons Bay., we also share part of this building with the Williamstown Theatre, and Altona Theatre Groups. Fridays would be best day to visit, Sausage Sizzle Lunch

Boys Toys?....Who knows what they will discover, here we have an Magnetic Motor which runs without the connection of any Batteries or any wiring... It runs the small wheel enclosed within the plastic box, experiments will be made to see if the inner wheel could be used to generate power...in order to perhaps, charge small battery's, all great fun for the boys from our IT Computer Department and has the writer here asking numerous questions!

Todays Our Pelicans Cycling Group covered more that 50 Kms leaving Flinders St Railway Stn for Port Phillip Cycling Trail as far as Mordialloc Creek on one of Melbourne's finest Spring days. Five riders attended for what we call the Magnum Run. Photo shows the revamped Beaumaris Hotel ( formally known as The Great Southern Hotel Built in 1888 ) which now features 69 Apartments overlooking Port Philip Bay.

We post this because we are also sad that Holden is no longer being produced in Australia. Our Men's Shed members and Car-Torque friends will continue to bring superb examples of the Holden Motorcar along to our regular Car-Torque meetings on the first Sunday of every month @ 280 Queen St, Altona 3018

Last Tuesday our Cycling Group found their way from Footscray to Moonee Ponds following the upgraded trail across to Fairfield where we enjoyed a scrumptious lunch stop opposite the local Railway Station.

A great day was had by all who attended our Car-Boot-Sale at the Shed, as you can see Stall Holders drove their cars in and opened the Boot (Trunk). Some brought Clothing, others even brought their Garden Plants and what does Shed Member Morris have tucked under his arm?,....and here's another one on a table nearby.

At the Shed today, This looks like the End.....Oh no it's not! that's the next picture, shed mates Billy, Alan & Andrew, remove all the paint from a replacement Hood for Billy's Car seen hiding behind the tree....this was the easy way to fix it after Billy's altercation with a Kangaroo..Cheers, Boys Great Job.
