SAMBA DANCERS OF MELBOURNE! We are so excited to bring you a 4 hour Samba Intensive with International Samba Queen, Sasha Mazzeu! Sasha, a renowned Brazilian dancer, teacher and choreographer from the Sunshine Coast, has been studying Brazilian music and dance for the past 10 years and is excited to pass on her wealth of knowledge and experience to the Melbourne Samba community. 4 HOUR SAMBA INTENSIVE WITH SASHA MAZZEU SATURDAY 10TH JUNE 2017 11am - 12pm: Samba de coco & Maracatu Workshop 12pm - 1pm: Samba no pé - Samba de gafieira style 1:30pm - 2:30pm: Samba no pé - Passista style 2:30pm - 3:30pm: Samba no pé - Malandro / Malandrinha style PRICING Whole 4 hour Samba Intensive - $120 OR Individual Workshops Only - $35 each Pre-registration is ESSENTIAL as there are limited places. If you hadn't already guessed it, we are excited to announce our special guest Samba instructor coming to Melbourne JUNE 10 is Sunshine Coast's one and only SASHA MAZZEU! Sasha is a Brazilian culture lover who, over the last 10 years, has dedicated a lot of her life to travelling and studying Brazil and its endless array of dance and music. Originally focusing on Samba No Pe and Samba de Gafieira, and training extensively in Rio de Janeiro under world famous masters, Sasha's eyes were BLOWN open when she lived briefly in Pernambuco and trained in Frevo, Maracatu, Ciranda and Coco! Here she saw Samba cross over and entangle itself with these other dance styles, many of which she now integrates into her Samba to create her very unique style. In 2014 she formed SOMBASHA, a performance group that works with live music and local bands like Som de Calcada and Baque Austrais Maracatu group to showcase the incredible variety of dance Brazil has to offer and provide audiences a taste into what she experiences whilst living and travelling in Brazil. She now is the director and head dance teacher of Let’s Dance Latin, Academy of Dance on the gorgeous Sunshine Coast in Queensland. Sasha believes Dance Culture is a holistic conversation and is constantly intrigued by where dance came from and what shapes its evolution. Her passion is performing to live music and educating her students on the roots of Samba. She is the proud of mum of 2 beautiful Aussie-Brazilian boys, who now share her love of Brazilian music and dance too! Recently, Sasha has been crowned first place at the very first International Samba Queen competition in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Later this week we will be releasing details of her Melbourne workshops on June 10 - We are SO EXCITED! Keep your eyes out for the Facebook event coming out shortly!
