Soaring Eagles 41 - Insane Charge Posse 31 Once again another slow start for the mighty eagles who couldn't supply a scorer and gave away an immediate 5 points because of it. Charlie Liebing came out scorching hot, dropping 15 first half points and knocking back so many 3's you could've confused it with his tinder account. Up 24 - 14 at the main break, and having located his glasses after 3 airballs, Chef Kaissi turned it on , bringing the heater like a carter special on Saturday night. Matt Reade continued his dominance on the glass, once again being such a monster on the key he had most of the job done before any of the other boys could have a look. Alex Haysman also made his triumphant return for the Eagles fighting off sickness, potentially brought on by withdrawals in order for the boys to suit up 5 players and hold down a comfortable win.

Prescotts 36 - Soaring Eagles 33 Tough loss for the mighty Eagles tonight but as a wise man once said 'win some, lose some.' The Josh Bell birthday show was in full effect in warmups as he put on an absolute clinic from downtown claiming Adam Lake's position as team shooting coach. Matt Reade was a monster on the glass, gobbling up rebounds at a rate comparable to Gilly with cheap dingbats. Trailing 18-22 the full effects of the weekend really started to show as Prescotts pulled out to a 30-21 lead early in the second half. Ali McMillan was just about as dangerous as Ed Fowler on a quiet Sunday at the Archer and hit several cutters and a huge 3 to bring the Eagles back to a competitive 28-32 scoreline. But just like James Turner when it comes time to pay match fees the boys just didn't have it and fell narrowly short.

Soaring Eagles 55 - Sasquatch Meatheads 8 With Moisty out due to a wine tour, Haysman out recovering after a 4 day cricket bender and Lakos once again dogging the boys for a poker tournament the Eagles could've never seen this pumping coming. Actually I take that back, pumping isn't a strong enough word, a pumping is what Matt Reade gave his lucky lady friend on Saturday night, tonight the Eagles annihilated the Sasquatch Meatheads. Ed Gilmartin came out with a demeanour colder than Charlie Liebing's pre-game ice cream super Sunday from the hampstead hotel recording 14 first half points. Rami Kaissi kept his pre-game 6 win hot streak on the dogs rolling nicely into the game and also had a strong first half. Up 22-2 at the break the game was just about as dunzo as Bill Liebing after his 4th Phillip Seymour Frothman. That wasn't enough for the fellas though as Charlie Liebing must've thought it was a Thursday night on the sarries dfloor and there was no stopping him going for those 3s, Matt and Nath Reade added insult to the Meathead's injuries by running out and scoring plenty of easy transition buckets to blow the game well and truly away.

Soaring Eagles 43 - Mambas 36 Another week of low numbers for the boys, with 70% of the team away on holidays the over half had to really step it up tonight. Henry Schofield made his season debut and the only thing more impressive than his game opening 3 pointer was the bloke in the car park throwing down a pre-game nossie. The Eagles could've really used a Carter special to start the second half as they came out asleep and had no puff at all! Mambas pulled close bringing it to 26 - 30 but some timely buckets from Alex Dow, Josh Bell and Rami Kaissi saw the Eagles close the game out with a comfortable 7 point win.

Soaring Eagles 55 - Legends 26 Another tough week numbers wise for the mighty Eagles with exams claiming Rami, Bill, Turner and Gilly not to mention Lakos dogging the boys and heading to a poker tournament as well. The boys dug deep and recruited young Nathan Reade for his first stint in the big leagues and he threw down a stomper of a performance; getting rack must run through the Reade family veins because there was no stopping Nath getting to the basked, he also knocked down 3 three bangers just for good measure. Josh Bell realised mid-game he'd blown a 25% exam question earlier in the arvo and took his frustrations out on one of the Legends with a hard foul on an attempted lay-up, almost bringing the Legends player to tears in the process. Alex Hayman's incredible jump-ball winning streak sadly came to a close tonight, but he made up for in classic Haysman fashion by banking home a 3 pointer. All in all after tonight's showdown perhaps the legends should consider a name change after the pumping they copped this week.

Soaring Eagles 54 - Sasquatch Meathead 51 With exams claiming a number of players and Adam Lake busy tutoring Steph Curry at the Adam Lake Shooting Academy™ the Eagles were undersized and undermanned for their first game in division 2. The only thing grosser than Rami Kaissi's movember efforts were the Eagles ice cold start to the game who once again were slow out of the gate. To make matters worse Bill Liebing came straight from a late arvo screening of The Magnificent Seven were he ordered large buttered popcorn and it showed as he was dropping things like Jacko Harris on a Saturday night. Despite these issues the Eagles still kept it competitive trailing 24-26 at the break. New recruit Joel Kittel must've been listening to Geri Halliwell's 2001 smash 'It's Raining Men' pregame because this man was raining threes totalling 5 for the game. Rami Kaissi and James Turner turned it on late to seal a close win for the mighty Eagles.

Soaring Eagles 31 - Prescotts 28 With Alex haysman pulling out as a last minute withdrawal due to one too many pre game Phillip Seymour frothmans the boys were behind the 8 ball before the game even started (and not in the good way). Rumours swirled that Prescott player #7 shipped his entire life savings on oceanography to take home the melbourne cup and it was reflected in his on-court attitude, but his constant whining, errant elbows and indecipherable trash talk (because of his pussy ass bitch mouth guard) were not enough to keep the Eagles down and the score was tied 12-12 at the half. The only thing better than the post game hawaiian parmy's enjoyed at the fantastic Hampstead Hotel was the Eagles late game offence, the ball was passed around almost as quick as James Turner disappears when it's time to pay game fees. Up by 2 with 40 seconds left Ali McMillan hit a cutting Rami Kaissi for a huge layup to give the boys a comfortable lead. An errant Buffalo turnover gave the Prescotts a chance to bring it back within 2, but just when Prescott player #11 thought he was in the clear to put home a lay-up Matt Reade came out of nowhere and sent the poor kid flying into next week, a big time foul was called but time expired and Eagles escaped with the win.

Soaring Eagles 47 - Fail Blazers 26 Once again another slow start for the Eagles who for the first 10 minutes, were almost as disappointing as the salad bar at the Payneham Tavern, trailing 4-7. After this slow start though the boys turned it on like it was nobodies business, a month in South America did James Turner wonders as he got to the rack with ease. Ali McMillan was stealing the ball time and time again he does girls hearts on a Saturday night and fed the boys for easy lay-ups. The second half was a masterclass in ball movement and the Eagles were pinging that rock around at a rate that hasn't been witnessed since kickons at the Dosmans 2 weekends ago. All in all a comfortable win and an average salad bar.

Soaring Eagles 31 - Sharky's 30 Another close one for the boys tonight who can't put two good back to back games together. Rami Kaissi, Matt Reade and Josh Bell carried the Eagles through a tight first half and the boys led by 6 at the break. For the first time in months the Eagles attempted more 3 bangers on the court than on the weekend and the results were spectacular with both Liebing's knocking down a couple for good measure. With just over a minute remaining and trailing by 1 Rami Kaissi came up with a big time steal then sent it down to the buffalo and if you thought paying $60 entry for Oktoberfest only to be greeting by $11 beers was a ridiculous you should've seen the left handed over the head shot he pulled off while being fouled to put the Eagles up by 2. Some late game inconsistencies from the ref almost boned the boys over (although not quite in the same manner as to which Charlie Liebing did to her on a Thursday night earlier this year) but the Eagles escaped with the win.

Soaring Eagles 47 - Sharkys 29 As with most games, the eagles got off to a slow start this evening only leading by 6 at the major break. The lead could've been much larger but Adam Lake suffered through more performance issues than Matt Reade this past Saturday night, going 0-7 from 3 in the first half. Sharkys had to break out the sunscreen in the second half as Rami Kaissi and Ali McMillan caught fire and pushed the 6 point lead out to 18, Matt Reade added insult to injury by throwing down a slam dunk to cap things off.

Soaring Eagles 48 - Bar Heels 41 New season, new eagles, after a disappointing end to last season, the boys decided to switch leagues and move down to Marden. The new rims were no problem for Ed Gilmartin whose jumpshot was wetter than the La Rumbla floors after Ali McMillan was finished with them on Saturday night. In a standard Eagles showing they kept the game close until the final 5 minutes and then turned it on like nobodies business to blow the Bar Heels out on a 10-3 run to close the game. Shoutout to Sam Kakkoufas who made his debut and showed enough promise to potentially knock Adam Lake down to the reserves for a couple of weeks.
