Afterburn has been serving Saint John since February of 2008. Its state of the art facility is your option to large box gyms. We don’t believe in high fancy price machines and the myth of aerobic activity is the way to perform and look better. We focus on trainer and client relation and strive to be the best in customer service. Where we always say you are a name not just a number when a member of our fitness facility. Our clients range from new comers that have never been in a fitness facility, to clients that are looking for a new face lift to fitness and experience. We provide all our clients with different coaching depending on their needs. They range from nutrition, exercise and lifestyle coaching.

Afterburn believes in delivering a higher quality of standard to each and every client compared to our competitor. Our knowledgeable staff is on the cutting edge of training and nutritional guidance. We not only help coach in nutrition and exercise, but also the holistic approach to life.

Terry Blizzard has been in the Health & Wellness Industry for twelve years and has over 15,000 hours in the health and wellness field. Over three years ago Terry came up with a vision to change the personal training industry in his area. He was tired of the way big box gyms treated their clients and worrying more about monthly quotas then the members, and wanted to change the way people trained in his hometown.

In the last couple of years he has mentored under the best in the world – Juan Carlos Santana from I.H.P in Florida, Mike Boyle from M.B.S.C in Boston, Jonathan Chaimberg from Adrenaline Performance in Montreal and local founder Bruce Sweeny of Simply for Life.

Terry has taken the best from his coach’s and mentors and built his own philosophy for bettering over all conditioning, strength, nutrition and wellness.

Chicken Hash with Butternut Squash and Kale Chicken Hash with Butternut Squash and Kale Here’s a new way to serve up nutritious veggies with protein-packed chicken. It’s tender, flavorful and simple to make. Basically a perfect meal! This dish is great for meal prep, as it holds up well for several days in the fridge and can be easily packed in Tupperware to eat on-the-go. Enjoy! Courtesy of RealHealthyRecipes.com Servings: 6 Here’s what you need 1 butternut squash, peeled, seeded and cut into large pieces 1 bunch curly kale, stemmed and roughly chopped 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 2” pieces sea salt and black pepper 1 Tablespoon olive oil 1 red onion, sliced 1 Tablespoon fresh sage, minced ½ cup chicken broth ¼ teaspoon liquid stevia 1 Tablespoon Dijon mustard Instructions Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Add the butternut squash pieces and blanch for 3 minutes, until almost cooked through. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped kale. Let stand, uncovered, for 3 minutes. Drain the pot and set the veggies aside. Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper. Return the emptied pot to medium-high heat and sauté the chicken with the olive oil, until browned on all sides. Add the onions and sauté for 2 minutes. Mix in the butternut squash and kale mixture and sage. Sauté for another 2 minutes. In a small bowl combine the broth, stevia and Dijon. Pour over the hash and simmer until the liquid is reduced. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy! Nutritional Analysis 217 calories, 2g fat, 12g carbohydrate, 3g sugar, 208mg sodium, 2g fiber, and 24g protein. Never miss a Monday. Here’s why… Mondays matter more than any other day of the week. This is because your actions on Monday set the tone for your entire week. Start out on the wrong foot and it could take days to get back on track. Mondays are like mornings. If you win your mornings, you're usually going to win your day. Starting out with a healthy, balanced breakfast that avoids sugar and is full of fiber and protein gets you primed to eat healthy again at lunch, and again at dinner.
