Skulls are cleaned, carved and finished all by hand by me. Hello Everybody,

Welcome and thank you so much for visiting.

I began carving skulls the summer of 2015 when I was searching a carpentry project on-line and an image of a carved skull from Indonesia appeared in my Google search. There was an old cow skull hanging on our load-out shoot that I used as an experiment. It was a great success and the rest is history, or the future, which ever way you want to look at it. I am NOT afraid to admit it but at the time I was suffering from depression and the cleaning, carving, painting and finishing not only took my mind off things but it gave me something to do instead of just sitting around, feeling sorry for myself. When the "experiment skull" was finished I followed up with a bull that we butchered and a buffalo skull. The responses were fabulous so I continued on. Don't get me wrong, with suffering from depression I still have my "bad" days but I now have many more "good" days filled with more productive thoughts.

Bone is not an easy medium to work with. Size, shape, contouring and thickness is always taken into consideration. Some designs come easier than others but all are very well though out. All skulls are cleaned, which includes boiling for hours or even days in a slow, rolling boil. They are then carved and reboiled. Once they are all clean then the fun really begins, the painting and finishing. I love color, so very few of my skulls will be white.

My skulls are not just a day project, they are very time consuming and some take multiple days or even weeks. I take pride in all my work and it is not rushed.

YES I do "personal" skulls with brands or any design of your choosing. I will work with you to find a design that will work best on your skull and that will be the a topic of discussion for years to come.
