The K'amba carnival is an annual event that take place each year in the first week of March. Female teens compete for the crown of the Kamba Queen, dog sled races and many more winter activities all in one place. Be sure to come check out this event!

K'amba carnival 2019 was a blast. We hope everyone enjoyed themselves 😊 A big thank you to all of the dedicated volunteers that helped throughout the carnival, also to Doug Lamalice for his entertaining emceeing. A shout out to Shane Daniel's and the usual suspects for your rocking music. Thank you to all of the very talented contestants in the talent shows for competing, both kids and adults. So much talent. Thank you to the coordinators of the dog races, Bessanne McKay, Anthony Beck and Elizabeth Giroux your hard work is very much appreciated. A very big thank you to KFN recreation director Sharon Pekok for your endless hard work, you have been the rock behind the committee and without you we couldnt have done it. Chief April Martel for thank you for your help as well. Wed like to thank our sponsors for all of your generous donations. Thanks to Kim Lea and Trisha Laye for the creation of Pterry the Ptarmagin, and another thank you to Mark Lundbek for naming the mascot. Congratulations to all of the winners of the events and a very bug congratulations to Shanelle Moore on winning K'amba carnival Queen 2019. Shanelle Moore has worked very hard along side of the volunteers of Kamba as well as the prince and princess winners too. Mahsi cho to everyone that had a hand in helping out with carnival, including the drummers. If I have missed anyone that deserves a thank you I apologize. Jamie Heron and Trina Corrigal worked beside me the whole weekend, really helped me and the committee so much with decoration and helping organize. Thank you to Alexa Martel, Rose Mary Buggins, Chantelle Lafleur, Irene Graham, Elizabeth Boucher, Noah Lafleur, Valerie Minoza, Atand Norn, Ricki Lamalice, Lorne Poitras, Hawkins Tambour, Betty Saki, Michelle Lafleur, Jochim Minoza, Alina Lizotte, Justin Lafferty again if I'm missing anyone that helped I apologize. But all of your work is recognized by me and the committee and we thank you all. Denise Sabourin for your help as a committee memeber as well. Dolly Martel for organizing the arts and crafts vendor. Thanks to Roy Fabian for organizing the handgames and to the help he had. Thanks to Lizanne Fisher at Gold n Gift for providing the trophies and ribbons. We had such a great selection of vendors yesterday at the Chief Lamalice complex during the 1st portion of the dene handgames. Lots of great art work, food and clothing. Vendors market will run from 11am to 3pm today.
